From the article in the Insurance & Financial Advisor:
“New rules restricting the marketing techniques insurance agents can employ with the elderly and disabled when selling Medicare Advantage take effect Oct. 1, the first day agents can market the comprehensive health coverage and prescription drug plans.”
As you doubtless know, this makes me very happy. Its just one little step in insurance reform, but every step counts. Holding insurance agents increasingly accountable to rules and regulations is important for keeping the bad apples at bay, in a big way. This is especially true when we’re talking about the elderly and folks who are easily manipulated, either because they’re too trusting or just have a really smart agent who knows how to play them.
Check out the list of new rules they have to abide by here.
